The Inverse Square Law
Light at: 2ft
1/4 sec f/5 @ iso160
1/13 sec f/5 @ iso160
Light at: 8ft.4 sec f/5 @ iso160
1.3 sec f/5 @ iso160
The results of this lighting test showed that as the light source moved further away from all three cards, their values became closer to one another. When the light was closer to the cards, there was a bigger difference between the value of the three cards (the closest one to the light being the brightest and the furthest away card being the darkest).
2.5 sec f/10 @ iso160
BLACK card: approx. 3 ft from light (1 ft from camera)
GREY card: approx. 6 ft from light
WHITE card: approx. 18ft from light
The results of this lighting test showed just how much of a difference the distance of a light source to an object will change the brightness/value of the object.
